2015 brings with it the newest and hottest colour trends in Home Décor. We scoured the internet and Decor Magazines and divided the result up into 3 major categories. 1. Rich Worldly BluesThe Greeks took inspiration from the sea and used it on the roofs of the crisp white buildings of Oia. In China during the first millennia, the colour was very commonly used in glazed porcelain. One of the most beautiful and inspirational places I visited on my travels was Delft, The Netherlands. This is where Blue Delftware was created beginning in the 16th century. Now in the year 2015 we are seeing a rise in popularity of these deep rich blues and crisp white not only in pottery but also in upholstery and paint. Making it one of the most popular colours this year! Think of the soft tones of blue, pink and yellow we see in the sky during sunset. Think of the silvery green of pale jade. For Instance Guilford Green, the Colour of the Year according to Benjamin Moore Pastel colours don't necessarily have to scream "Easter". They can be a subtle alternative to a neutral adding freshness and life to any space. Pastels are here to stay! According the Pantone (the leading authority on colour), the colour of the year is Marsala. The name comes from a Italian town located in Sicily & known around the world for its unique tasting wine. We are seeing evidence of its rise in popularity particularly in Home Decor mostly because of the colour's warmth and richness, making it a wonderful option for cushions, throws, rugs or any accent piece. Not only is the purest wine colour becoming popular, we are also seeing pops of blush accessories and other varying tints. This earthy red-brown tone is truly an up & coming colour.
